Kristen has been battling it out for one of Hollywood’s most coveted roles, Lisbeth Salander, in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo! But Inception starlet, Ellen Page might just snag the role right from under her!

Everybody wants to know: who will land the lead in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? We thought Twilight star Kristen Stewart would land the lead of Lisbeth Salander but it might very well be Inception star, Ellen Page who will walk away with the role! The American version of the film is based on the best selling book by Stieg Larsson and the competition is getting intense! Nikki Finke’s Deadline.com reports that even though Sony Pictures has set a Dec. 21, 2011 release date for the film, the fight for the lead is getting fierce!

Not only is director David Fincher, debating between K-Stew and Ellen, but actresses like Carey Mulligan [An Education], Mia Wasikowska [Alice in Wonderland], Emily Browning [Sucker Punch], Sara Snook [Sleeping Beauty], Rooney Mara [The Social Network], and Sophie Lowe [Blame] are all in the running!

It sounds like there’s some pretty steep competition but it get’s even tougher! Deadline.com says David, who is best known for directing Fight Club, 1999, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, 2008, is telling all of the actresses to work on their Swedish accents, now that’s not an easy task!

Twilight Eclipse grossed $7.93 million on Thursday, topping the North American box-office chart for the ninth consecutive day and crossing the $200m mark domestically, according to Box Office Mojo.

Directed by David Slade, written by Melissa Rosenberg (from Stephenie Meyer‘s novel), starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, and featuring Bryce Dallas Howard, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Xavier Samuel, Dakota Fanning, and Peter Facinelli, among others, Eclipse‘s nine-day total currently stands at $203.66m.

Eclipse is currently on the #10 spot among the fastest movies to reach $200 million on the Box Office Mojo chart (not adjusted for inflation). This year, only Toy Story 3 is ahead on the chart, having crossed the $200m milestone with $208m on Day 9.

If inflation were taken into account, Eclipse would be down one spot at no. 11, following the 2002 release Spider-Man (with $202m on Day 9).

Chris Weitz‘s The Twilight Saga: New Moon, released in Nov. ’09, crossed the $200m mark with $205m on Day 8. New Moon is on the list’s no. 4 spot.

Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, and Iron Men 2 crossed the $200m mark only on Day 10 (which included two weekends). All three movies — and Toy Story 3 — have gone on to gross more than $300m domestically. (Avatar, of course, has taken in more than $700m.)

The top three movies on the list are The Dark Knight, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

The other movies that crossed the $200m mark on Day 9 are Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

His face adorns the bedroom walls of teenage girls the world over. As brooding romantic vampire Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson has become a huge star and box office winner. It also brought him close to his co-star Kristen Stewart, who plays his human love Bella, and there's constant speculation they are an item.

Today sees the release of the third film in the Twilight saga - Eclipse.

Here, London-born Robert, 24, tells The Ticket how he keeps his feet firmly on the ground.

What's new about Eclipse?

Everything's bigger. The budget is bigger and everyone's more famous now, so that was a very different experience.

You're surrounded by all this insanity. How do you stay normal?

I find periods to escape from it and places to get away to as much as possible. I try and tell myself it's just a job and that all this craziness won't last forever.

Can you walk down the street?

It depends. You just have to deal with it or go completely insane. I still have the same friends. To be honest, I never really went to bars anyway, but beforehand I couldn't get into anything that had a guest list.

Anything that particularly drives you mad?

The only thing really is when you leave your building and there's always someone following you. I like to get out of cities so you're not constantly worried about that.

Others involved in the films say the Twilight cast is like a family. Would you agree?

Well, they're not as close as my family, but I think it's nice to have been all together at the beginning and then go on pretty much the same ride.

You can't really talk to anyone else about the same thing as no one else really understands it. Also, everyone has stayed normal, so you can still relate to everyone on the same level as you could at the beginning.

Do you have any plans for when the Twilight series ends?

I just want to work as much as I am now. I like working all the time because I spent so many years before Twilight just doing two or three months of the year. The rest of the time I'd do nothing, or I'd just have tiny little jobs.

Can you identify with Edward's desire to marry?

That seems odd. The whole vampire thing is about the flesh all the time. It's about base instincts. So getting married is the total opposite. It's the ultimate proof of him not being an out-of-control animal.

Are you very different from the romantic and mysterious Edward?

I don't know. The main thing is that he's very extreme in his way of thinking and I'm not really like that. I don't think in such absolutes, you know, "If I can't be with this girlfriend, I'm going to kill myself." I guess that's quite a teenage thing. I think that is the main difference between us.
